"Global climate change may be causing a pivotal shift in the depths of Lake Tahoe that could fundamentally alter its ecology by the end of the next decade and turn its famed jewel-blue waters a murky hue, according to a recent study."
But not really or so some would have you believe. The facts are that Global Warming is a reality and the facts are that places like Lake Tahoe and its crystal clear waters are in jeopardy. The quote above is from the Los Angeles Times , follow the link to read the whole story. This is yet another example of nature, in our own backyards, that is in need of help if it is to remain the same.
Literally in our lifetimes the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe could become murky green, clouded with algae. Think of the wildlife that is supported by these waters both fish and mammal and what this change means to them. Yes Global Warming is real and it is changing our surroundings, each of us needs to do whatever we can to make a difference.

It is just one of the many bodies of water that will be effected. Lake Mead is going fast, which means the drinking water for 2-3 states is in jeopardy. Drought is #1 problem of global warming.
Keep up the blogging. Someone will hear!
Thank You! What is it going to take for Joe Public to get it?
Joe Public Developer needs new restrictions. A complete understanding and compliance of watershed BMP's (Best Management Practices) must be legislated for new developments.
The problem may be that these BMP's were based on growth projections from 30 years ago.
Not all legislation is bad but it needs to be updated and there must be oversight and testing based on growth.
Perhaps a moratorium on development. Yes, I said MORATORIUM. Values are down anyways. Let the land heal during this downturn. So many natural systems work in this way, why cant we?
